I get how when you go away you even put cover-up on before you go to sleep so no one will see. I get how it feels to think that everyone is looking at them day and night. I feel your pain and I wish for you that they will be a little less red. I understand how you hate those little red spots. I'm guessing most of you are getting tired of covering "them" with make-up day after day. I know that most of you hate the mirror as I do. Once again good luck to all of you.Īthlete Since Birth Fortunately and Unfortunatly I believe this is the reason why the entire world doesn't do sports otherwise it would just be too good. But all of this is the risk you run I guess. Then there is the way the bad are sometimes cast-out on there own team simply because of their playing abilities and not their personalities. To those of you who have had the same I feel for you. I have had my fair share of coaches the good, the bad, and the ugly. I am somewhat above average in the ability departement but sometimes I feel below average in the heart departement. I am fortunate and at the same time sometimes I feel unfortunate to be one of those people. But I guess that that is the world of sports. Sometimes I find it cruel the way that coaches pick and choose only the best and sometimes those with the greatest will to learn and the littlest ability are cast-away and not allowed. Other days I despise coaches, other athletes and the process of choosing teams. I feel as though there is nothing better than playing sports. I feel that I should give up everything for the love of the game. Some days I feel very fortunate to be among you. To those of you who know what I'm talking about I hope that you don't think about this too much. If you play volleyball and you are reading this, take it into consideration and think about what it would be like to be a setter, it isn't exactly the easiest job you know. Another example is I find that when the ball is passed to you very high it is more difficult than when it is lower. Then if you don't make a good set out of it people think that your off or well not talented. Many people don't understand that even if the ball comes perfectly to you, it isn't always easy. Sometimes I find that the way the ball spins has a lot to do with how easy it is to set it. If you don't set what you call, others will be mad and confused. If you dump it and you mess up it's a wasted ball for the hitters.
The pressure that if you don't set it right than the hitters cannot get a kill. All volleyball players deal with pressures in general but for setters I feel it goes beyond.
Setters must deal with enormous amounts of pressure. The setter has to be confident and not afraid of making mistakes. The setter has to feel a connection with her/his hitters otherwise the team will not well. I, myself being a volleyball setter find it to be the most important position to pick the right player for.
